Seychelles Nature Trail 2026: Where Trail Running Meets Ecotourism on Mahé

A 22 km Trail Through Tropical Wilderness

The Seychelles Nature Trail returns for its third edition on May 16, 2026, on the island of Mahé. The 22 km course with 1,210 metres of elevation gain promises a demanding adventure through the most spectacular landscapes of the archipelago. Participants will traverse Cap Ternay, Anse Major, Mare aux Cochons, Cassedent and Tomassin, departing from Port Glaud and finishing at Grand Anse. The route offers total immersion in tropical rainforest, granite mountains and the stunning coastal panoramas of the Seychelles.

An Event at the Crossroads of Sport and Sustainable Tourism

The Seychelles Nature Trail is more than just a race: it is a genuine catalyst for sports tourism and ecological awareness. The event plays a vital role in promoting Seychellois biodiversity and raising awareness about the preservation of the archipelago’s unique ecosystems. The organisers are committed to sustainable practices, minimising the race’s environmental footprint and encouraging participants to adopt an eco-responsible approach.

Growing International Participation

The previous edition already attracted runners from Asia, Africa and Europe, with nearly one-third of participants coming from abroad. The third edition promises to be even more ambitious, cementing the Seychelles’ reputation as an adventure tourism destination in the Indian Ocean. For runners, it is a unique opportunity to combine athletic performance with the discovery of an exceptional natural setting.

Discovering Mahé Beyond the Race

Participants and their companions typically take the opportunity to explore Mahé’s treasures during their stay. The island is home to the Morne Seychellois National Park, which covers more than 20% of its area, as well as numerous paradisiacal beaches such as Anse Intendance and Beau Vallon. The capital Victoria, accessible within minutes from the international airport (SEZ), offers a fascinating blend of colourful markets, colonial architecture and botanical gardens.

Early registration for the Seychelles Nature Trail 2026 is already open. Seychelles International Airport, located just 11 km from Victoria, is served by numerous international airlines including Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines.
